Opening Ceremony of English Access Microscholarship Program 2017-2019

On October 05th, 2017, Center for Foreign Languages, CTU in collaboration with the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City held the Opening Ceremony of the English Access Microscholarship Program 2017-2019. Attending the ceremony were Mr. David Turnbull, Deputy Public Affairs Officer, US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ha Thanh Toan, Rector of CTU; representatives of leaders and officers of CTU’s units; alumni; parents; and 25 new students the Access Program. The Access program was launched in 2004, and over 110,000 students from more than 80 countries benefited from this program. In Vietnam, there are about 1,000 students participating in this program. This is the second time the English Access Microscholarship Program has been organized in Can Tho for disadvantaged students. Participating in the Access program, students can develop their English skills to get a better job or study in the future. In addition, they can learn about American culture as well as other useful computer skills. After two years, students are more confident and able to communicate in English.
